A Touch of Madness
This boomerang shaped valley was carved out by a glacier many thousands of years ago. As a result it is a U-shaped valley with a wide flat bottom and steep sides. The glacier formed in the mountains at the northern end of the valley and carved a southerly path before turning southeast and terminating in a great lake. In total the valley is just over 50 miles long with the bend almost exactly in the middle. It is almost 2 miles across The river that now meanders along the valley floor is named the Anora and springs from the same mountains that spawned the glacier.
The town of Fallcrest is located on the bend in the valley and its inhabitants farm the fertile land to the north as it is almost devoid of trees and floods regularly keeping the ground productive. The length of valley to the Southwest is heavily forested and is much hillier than the flat Northern section. The dense forest harbours many creatures, both natural and not, although they have long since learnt to leave the town alone due to its heavy defenses.
